Mertle also known as hairy wood, is used for braai and as kaggel wood. Use the hairy bark to get your fire going, works excellent for wors, steak and chops. This is the next best thing to rooikrans and we found that more and more customers prefer mertle to rooikrans. Easy to light with the same type of bark as vineyard and almost the same coals as rooikrans.
